'Who would lead people?' the Manipur Chief Minister asks in response to a potential departure

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh firmly dismissed rumors on Monday that he and his Cabinet ministers were planning to resign. He emphasized that Manipur is currently facing challenging times, and it would only lead to more chaos if the leadership were to step down.

Singh expressed confidence in his administration's capabilities and highlighted the crucial role of leadership in guiding people through difficult situations. He questioned who would lead the state if the current leadership were to resign, underscoring the need for stability during such times.

Warning against the publication of speculative and unfounded reports, Singh cautioned that such actions could create panic among the public. He stressed the importance of verifying information before publishing to avoid unnecessary anxiety among the people of Manipur.

Singh made these remarks on the sidelines of an event at the Manipur State Film Development Society hall, where the commencement of three new criminal laws was being marked. The event was attended by state Cabinet ministers, MLAs, and senior officials from civil and police departments.
