14-year-old girl abducted and killed in Bihar after declining a marriage proposal

In a deeply disturbing incident in Bihar's Muzaffarpur, a young girl was abducted from her home and brutally murdered after she rejected a marriage proposal from a local villager. The crime took place on the night of August 11, when the accused, identified as Sanjay Rai, along with five accomplices, arrived at the girl's home on three motorcycles. They forcibly entered the house by breaking the gate and abducted the girl at knifepoint.

According to the girl's mother, Rai had issued threats three days before the abduction, demanding that her daughter marry him or face severe repercussions. Despite these ominous threats, the situation escalated to the tragic crime that followed.

The next morning, August 12, the girl's body was discovered in a nearby pond. Her body was found with her hands and feet bound, and she had sustained multiple stab wounds, including severe injuries to her head, neck, and hands. A blood-stained weapon was recovered near the crime scene, further corroborating the brutality of the attack.

The victim's family has alleged that the girl was sexually assaulted before her murder. However, preliminary findings from the post-mortem report, as stated by Muzaffarpur Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar, do not show any injuries to the girl's private parts. The police have sent a vaginal swab for further testing to determine if she was raped.

The Muzaffarpur police have launched an extensive manhunt for Sanjay Rai and his accomplices, who are currently on the run. The case has elicited strong reactions from the local community, drawing attention to the need for increased vigilance and protection for individuals facing threats and violence. The horrific nature of the crime has intensified calls for justice and effective measures to prevent such acts of brutality.
