Veteran Malayalam actor Mohanlal has been hospitalized in Kochi following recent health concerns. The actor, renowned for his extensive and illustrious career, is currently receiving medical treatment for high-grade fever, breathing difficulties, and muscle pain. An official medical statement reveals that Mohanlal is suspected to be suffering from a viral respiratory infection.
The 64-year-old actor, who is affectionately known as Lalettan by his fans, has been advised by his doctors to avoid public spaces for the next five days to facilitate his recovery and minimize the risk of spreading the infection. He is also following a strict medication regimen as part of his treatment plan. This precautionary step is aimed at ensuring his swift and complete recovery.
Mohanlal's recent health issues came shortly after he completed significant work on his forthcoming projects. He recently wrapped up the shooting of *L2: Empuraan*, the highly anticipated sequel to *Lucifer*, and also completed the post-production of his directorial debut, *Barroz*. After returning to Kochi from Gujarat, where he was involved in these projects, his health condition worsened, prompting his hospitalization.
*Barroz* is set to be released on October 2, coinciding with the start of the Navratri festival. This film marks Mohanlal’s debut as a director and has generated considerable excitement among his fans. The film was initially slated for release on March 28, 2024, but the release date was postponed due to delays in the post-production process.
Earlier this year, Mohanlal and his team faced legal challenges from a German-based Malayali writer, who alleged that *Barroz* was involved in copyright infringement. Despite the legal notice, the film's team has not publicly commented on these allegations.
As Mohanlal focuses on his recovery, both the film industry and his extensive fan base are hoping for his speedy return to full health. His ongoing projects and professional commitments continue to be a significant topic of interest and anticipation within the Malayalam film industry.
