Actor Raghav Juyal warns that boycotting Bollywood would "kill" his success in the South

Actor and dancer Raghav Juyal recently shared insights into the reception of his film *Kill*, a gory action thriller produced by prominent names Karan Johar and Guneet Monga. Speaking in an interview with Digital Commentary, Juyal elaborated on the film’s performance and why it has resonated more strongly in South India compared to the northern regions.

According to Juyal, *Kill* has enjoyed significantly better traction in the South. He attributed this success to the audience's more engaged and supportive approach to cinema in the region. He criticized the phenomenon of social media-driven boycotts, suggesting that while such online campaigns can garner attention, they often do not translate into actual viewing habits. He commented, "In the South, particularly in Malayalam cinema, the audience has a different mindset towards films. They appreciate and support a variety of genres and stories, as seen with movies like *Aavesham* and *Manjummel Boys*."

Juyal highlighted the contrast in film consumption between the North and South of India. He mentioned that, despite *Kill* being in theaters for over a month, it continues to attract audiences in the South. This enduring interest is noteworthy given the competitive release landscape, with major stars such as Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, and Akshay Kumar all releasing their films around the same time. Juyal expressed his satisfaction and gratitude, noting that even amidst such star-studded competition, *Kill* has managed to hold its own and continue drawing viewers.

In his reflection, Juyal also touched upon the broader implications of audience behavior and regional preferences in Indian cinema. He emphasized the importance of supporting films by actually watching them, rather than merely engaging in online discourse. His comments shed light on the dynamic nature of the Indian film industry and the varying tastes of audiences across different regions.
