Day 1 box office receipts for "Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha": Ajay-Tabu film debuts at Rs 2 crore

Ajay Devgn and Tabu’s latest film, *Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha*, had a modest start at the box office, earning Rs 2 crore on its opening day. The film, directed by Neeraj Pandey, did not make a significant impact despite the star power of its leads. The opening day collection was notably lower than their previous successful collaborations.

In comparison, *Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha* outperformed Janhvi Kapoor’s *Ulajh*, which collected approximately Rs 1.10 crore on the same day. Both films were released on August 2, creating a competitive box office environment.

Historically, Ajay Devgn and Tabu have had more impressive debuts. Their 2015 film *Drishyam* earned Rs 5.8 crore on its opening day, while its sequel, *Drishyam 2*, made Rs 15.38 crore. Rohit Shetty’s *Golmaal Again* set a high bar with Rs 30 crore on its first day, and *De De Pyaar De*, which also featured Rakul Preet Singh, opened to Rs 8.5 crore. Their previous action thriller, *Bholaa*, directed by Ajay Devgn himself, had a stronger debut with Rs 11 crore.

*Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha* is significant as it marks the 10th collaboration between Ajay Devgn and Tabu. Their first film together was *Vijaypath* in 1994. The new film also features Shantanu Maheshwari, Saiee Manjrekar, and Jimmy Shergill in pivotal roles.

Despite its underwhelming opening, the film has the potential to gain traction as it progresses through the weekend, though it faces strong competition from other releases and may need to rely on positive word-of-mouth and strong reviews to boost its performance.
