Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the nation from the historic Red Fort for the 11th consecutive time on August 15, a remarkable achievement that underscores his enduring leadership. Modi will be the first Indian Prime Minister since Jawaharlal Nehru to address the nation from this iconic location for such an extended period.
During his speech, PM Modi is expected to lay out the key priorities of his government for its third term in office. He will likely provide a comprehensive roadmap to propel India towards becoming a fully developed nation. His address will include insights into the government's strategic plans and initiatives designed to drive progress and address current and future challenges.
In keeping with his focus on inclusivity, the Prime Minister has invited a diverse group of special guests to the celebrations. The guest list includes representatives from several key societal groups: the poor, women, youth, and farmers. Approximately 4,000 individuals from these categories will attend the event, reflecting PM Modi’s commitment to celebrating and acknowledging various segments of Indian society.
The invitation process has been meticulously organized, with different ministries taking responsibility for specific groups. The Ministries of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Youth Affairs, and Women and Child Development have curated the guest lists for farmers, youth, and women, respectively. Other ministries, including Panchayati Raj and Rural Development, Tribal Affairs, Education, and Defense, have also played a role in selecting guests.
In a notable addition to this year’s celebrations, the Indian contingent from the Paris Olympics 2024 is expected to be invited. This gesture not only honors their achievements on the global stage but also aligns with the government’s broader effort to recognize and celebrate excellence in various fields.
The Independence Day event at the Red Fort is anticipated to draw more than 18,000 attendees, making it a significant and grand celebration. The occasion will be marked by a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere, celebrating India's rich heritage and the progress made under the current administration.
