Malaika Arora on growing older: People are enamored with my appearance

In a candid interview with Harper's Bazaar India, Malaika Arora opened up about the topic of ageing and shared her personal beauty secrets. The actress and popular television personality, who has been a significant figure in the entertainment industry for over two decades, discussed how she maintains her youthful appearance at 48 and addressed the public's fascination with her age.

Arora expressed that the attention she receives regarding her age is not about her being "old," but rather about how well she has managed to maintain her appearance as she ages. She noted, "People are obsessed with my age. Not because I’m old. But because I look like this while I’m aging. When someone says, ‘You look amazing at 48,’ it feels fantastic. I don’t think people mean it in a derogatory way. It’s a compliment. At 48, if I can look the way I do, it’s due to my hard work, dedication, and focus, which is paying off."

In terms of her beauty and wellness routine, Arora revealed some of her practices that contribute to her youthful glow. She shared her fondness for headstands, a key part of her exercise regimen. She also mentioned that she incorporates matcha shots and turmeric into her diet, alongside engaging in Madero therapy—a South American technique using a wooden stick to break down cellulite and reduce body tension. Despite dealing with common issues such as cellulite, stretch marks, and weight fluctuations, Arora maintains a positive outlook and emphasizes wellness and self-care in her daily life.

Arora also touched upon her multifaceted career and the occasional confusion it causes among others. She recounted a recent conversation with her son Arhaan, who noted that his friends are often puzzled by her diverse roles. "The other day, my son told me that his friends are confused about what exactly I do. They’re like, ‘So she’s done films, songs, she has been a VJ, a model, she’s on TV.’ For a child, even they get confused. But why do I need to pander to what exactly I do? I do what makes me feel good,” Arora concluded, highlighting her commitment to pursuing her passions and what makes her feel fulfilled.
