Recalling that the 'objectifying' clothes in the film that she rejected with Shah Rukh Khan

Raveena Tandon recently shared insights into her decision to turn down a film with Shah Rukh Khan, citing concerns over "weird and objectifying" costumes as the primary reason. The actress, known for her roles in several popular films, had initially signed on for four projects with SRK, but not all of them came to fruition as expected.

In an interview with Filmfare, Raveena described how she was excited about collaborating with SRK but decided to opt out when the costume designs were revealed. She found them to be uncomfortable and felt that they were objectifying, which led her to withdraw from the project. She recounted a conversation with SRK where he was surprised by her decision, asking, "Are you mad? Why are you saying no now?" despite their successful collaborations on films like “Jaadu” and “Zamaana Deewana.”

Raveena praised Shah Rukh Khan as one of the most gentlemanly and warm-hearted co-actors she has worked with, highlighting his wit and decency. Her decision to step back was based on her personal comfort and professional standards rather than any issues with her co-star.

In addition to her experience with SRK, Raveena disclosed that she was once offered a role in Yash Chopra's acclaimed film “Darr,” which ultimately went to Juhi Chawla. She revealed to Mirchi Plus that her involvement in the project was hindered by costume-related issues, and the film she was initially considered for was shelved due to the director's passing. Raveena also mentioned that she had to back out of other projects due to similar concerns, which led to delays in their schedules.

On the current front, Raveena Tandon was recently seen in “Patna Shukla,” “Ghudchadi,” and “Karmma Calling.” She is also preparing for her upcoming film “Welcome To The Jungle,” continuing to build on her diverse acting career.
