The "very chill" vibe of Virat Kohli Rohit Sharma on Indian stars: Dhruv Jurel

Dhruv Jurel, the promising young cricketer who recently made his debut for India, has shared his reflections on the standout qualities of two of Indian cricket's most celebrated stars: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. As the Indian cricket team prepares for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh, Jurel's insights offer a glimpse into the impact of these senior players on the team.

Jurel, who made his international debut under Rohit Sharma's leadership during the England Test series earlier this year, has had the unique opportunity to witness and interact with both Kohli and Sharma up close. His comments shed light on the respect and admiration he has for these cricketing icons.

In a conversation with India Today's sister channel, Sports Tak, Jurel spoke highly of Virat Kohli, describing him as a "legend of the game." He emphasized how he continuously seeks to learn from Kohli, noting that their discussions are always centered around cricket. Jurel said, "I always try to learn because he is a legend of cricket. I think about how he was made, and what he did in the background. Always curious to learn new things. So whenever I talked to him, I only talked about cricket. When you are around him, you feel that aura that Virat Kohli is there."

Jurel praised Kohli's enduring excellence and the aura he brings to the field. He mentioned that Kohli’s long-standing dominance and success in cricket are highly inspiring to him. Jurel hopes to imbibe some of Kohli's qualities and approach into his own game, driven by the motivation to emulate his achievements and to contribute meaningfully to the team.

Turning his attention to Rohit Sharma, Jurel highlighted the India captain's approachable and relaxed nature. He noted that Rohit Sharma does not adhere to a strict senior-junior hierarchy, creating an environment where all players feel comfortable and valued. Jurel explained, "To be honest, he (Rohit) is very chill. He will talk to you casually, not like you are a senior or junior. He always talks very casually. If you need any help, he just comes over. He is normal and makes you feel comfortable."

Jurel's experiences under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy have evidently made a positive impression on him, reflecting the inclusive and supportive atmosphere Sharma fosters within the team. This quality is particularly valuable as it helps new and young players integrate seamlessly into the team dynamics.

As the Indian cricket team gears up for the Test series against Bangladesh scheduled for September, the contributions and leadership of both Kohli and Sharma will be pivotal. Their contrasting yet complementary attributes enhance the team’s preparation and overall performance. Jurel’s reflections highlight the significant role these senior players play in shaping the careers of emerging talents and maintaining a strong team spirit.
