Tomorrow's NEET PG exam: Be aware of last-minute crucial information and paperwork

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is set to conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 tomorrow, August 11, 2024. With over 2.3 lakh candidates expected to participate, the exam will be administered in a Computer-Based Test (CBT) format. Here’s a detailed guide to help candidates prepare thoroughly:

Candidates should ensure they arrive at their designated test venue according to the time specified on their admit cards. To avoid congestion, the examination centers have implemented staggered time slots for reporting. It is crucial to arrive well before the reporting counter closes, which is 30 minutes prior to the start of the exam, to allow ample time for security checks and identity verification.

For the exam, each candidate must bring a printed copy of their barcoded or QR-coded admit card. Additionally, a photocopy of their Permanent or Provisional SMC/MCI/NMC Registration is required, as this will be retained by the test center. Candidates must also present an original and valid photo ID at the examination center. Acceptable forms of ID include a PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, or Aadhaar Card with a Photograph. It is important to note that without valid photo identification, entry to the exam hall will be denied.

Certain items are prohibited inside the examination hall. These include jewelry such as rings, bracelets, nose pins, chains, necklaces, pendants, brooches, and badges, as well as personal items like wallets, goggles, handbags, belts, and caps. Electronic devices and food items are generally not allowed, with the exception of diabetic candidates who may carry sugar tablets, fruits, and a transparent water bottle.

The NEET PG 2024 exam will feature 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), each offering four response options, and all questions will be presented in English. The exam duration is 3 hours and 30 minutes. It is important to be aware of the marking scheme: there will be a 25 percent deduction of marks for incorrect answers, while no marks will be deducted for questions left unanswered. Candidates will have the option to mark questions for review, and these questions will be evaluated according to the marking scheme.

As the exam approaches, candidates are advised to stay informed by regularly checking the official website for any last-minute updates or announcements. Ensuring that all requirements are met and arriving at the venue well-prepared will help in navigating the examination process smoothly. Best of luck to all the candidates taking the NEET PG 2024!
