Trials for Delhi University's ECA quota admission will start on August 12


Delhi University (DU) has announced the schedule for physical trials for students seeking admission for the 2024-2025 undergraduate academic session through the Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) quota. These trials will cover a variety of activities, including Indian classical dance, Hindi debate, Indian classical and light music, and theatre, and are set to begin on August 12.

The trials for students applying under the sports quota are scheduled to take place from August 20 to August 22. Students aiming to secure admission through either the ECA or sports quotas must ensure they attend their respective trials at the designated centers to demonstrate their skills and abilities.

The trials for Indian classical dance will be held from August 12 to August 17 at Mata Sundari College, while Indian folk dance trials are scheduled for August 20 and August 21 at the same venue. Western dance trials will take place on August 21 and August 22, followed by choreography trials on August 23, all of which will also be held at Mata Sundari College.

For students interested in debate, the Hindi debate trials are scheduled from August 12 to August 13 at Ramjas College. English debate trials will follow, running from August 13 to August 22 at the same location. Those pursuing creative writing in Hindi and English will have their physical trials on August 16 at Hansraj College.

The trials for digital media activities, such as photography, filmmaking, and animation, are set to be held from August 20 to August 22 at Maharaja Agrasen College. Students interested in fine arts, including sketching and painting, will have their trials from August 20 to August 23, while sculpture trials are scheduled for August 23, both at Rajdhani College.

Music enthusiasts can participate in the trials for Indian classical and light music, which will be held from August 12 to August 22 at Bharati College. Western classical and light music trials are scheduled for August 22 and August 23 at the same college. Additionally, trials for Indian instrumental music will take place on August 20 and August 21, with Western instrumental music trials following on August 22 and August 23, all at Bharati College.

Theatre trials are planned for August 12 to August 21 at Miranda House College, while quiz enthusiasts can attend their trials on August 20 at Daulat Ram College. Students interested in Divinity can participate in the trials scheduled for August 13 at Guru Teg Bahadur College. Lastly, for those focusing on yoga, the trials will take place from August 21 to August 22 at PGDAV College.

Students are strongly advised to check the specific timings for their respective trials on the official Delhi University website to ensure they arrive at the correct time and location. 

This year, Delhi University has allocated five percent of the total seats in each college specifically for students admitted through the ECA and sports quotas, emphasizing the importance of these trials in securing admission to the university. The university's decision to dedicate a significant portion of seats to ECA and sports quota students underscores its commitment to promoting and nurturing talent beyond academic achievements.
