Apple event: No Apple Watch Ultra 3 today, but a fresh look at the Ultra 2

Apple's much-anticipated event, "It's Glowtime," is set to begin at 10:30 PM IST today. This highly awaited presentation will introduce the new iPhone 16 series, along with updates to the Apple Watch lineup and AirPods. The event, which will be streamed live on Apple’s official YouTube channel and their India website, promises to showcase a range of innovative products.

Among the most eagerly awaited announcements is the potential introduction of the Apple Watch Series 10. Initial rumors suggested that Apple might unveil the Apple Watch Ultra 3. However, recent reports indicate that instead of a completely new Ultra model, Apple might reveal a revamped version of the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has suggested that Apple is unlikely to launch an Apple Watch Ultra 3 at this event, with the company possibly focusing on a new variant of the Apple Watch Ultra 2. This updated version is expected to feature a black titanium color option, adding a sleek and stylish choice for consumers.

In addition to the Apple Watch Ultra 2’s potential redesign, the Apple Watch Series 10 is generating significant buzz. Expected to feature an edge-to-edge display with a thinner design, this new model is rumored to undergo a substantial redesign. Earlier speculation pointed to a flat display, similar to the Apple Watch Ultra, but recent reports suggest a return to the traditional curved display design. The Series 10 is anticipated to offer two larger case sizes—45mm and 49mm—compared to the current 41mm and 45mm sizes, providing users with a more expansive screen.

Beyond its physical design, the Apple Watch Series 10 is expected to incorporate several technological advancements. The new model might be equipped with a more powerful chipset, potentially paving the way for AI enhancements. However, it is worth noting that Apple Intelligence, currently exclusive to iPhones, iPads, and Macs, may not yet be featured in the Apple Watch Series 10. Despite this, the Series 10 is likely to see improvements in health monitoring capabilities, with speculations pointing to the addition of blood pressure monitoring and enhanced sleep apnea detection. These features are expected to be supported by advanced analysis of sleep patterns and breathing.

The AirPods 4 and the second generation of AirPods Max are also anticipated to be part of the announcements, though details about these products remain less certain. The AirPods 4 are expected to continue Apple’s tradition of refining audio technology, while the AirPods Max 2nd gen might bring further enhancements to audio quality and features.

The event will provide definitive answers to these speculations, and the India Today tech team will be on hand to provide live updates and detailed coverage of the new product launches. Stay tuned for the latest information and in-depth analysis as Apple unveils its latest innovations.
