Gold biscuits, cash, and jewels stolen from Telangana Deputy Chief Minister's house

Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with a significant theft that took place at the residence of **Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu**, the Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana. This incident has garnered considerable attention due to the high-profile nature of the victim, and the police have successfully recovered a substantial amount of stolen property, which includes **Rs 2.2 lakh** in cash, a **100-gram gold biscuit**, foreign currency, and various pieces of jewelry.

The suspects have been identified as **Roshan Kumar Mandal** and **Uday Kumar Thakur**, both hailing from the state of Bihar. Their arrest occurred at **Kharagpur Railway Station** in **West Bengal**. They were taken into custody after railway police noticed their suspicious behavior during a routine inspection on the platform. This highlights the vigilance of law enforcement officials, who are always on the lookout for criminal activity, particularly in busy transport hubs.

Upon further investigation, authorities discovered the stolen items in the suspects' possession, indicating that this was not merely a one-time incident, but rather a well-planned theft operation that may have involved careful reconnaissance and coordination. The recovered foreign currency included various denominations, specifically **British pounds, UAE dirhams**, and **Swiss francs**, which add another layer of complexity to the case and suggest that the suspects may have intended to convert the stolen goods for significant monetary gain.

Reports indicate that the theft occurred while Deputy Chief Minister Vikramarka was abroad on an official visit, creating an opportune moment for the accused to execute their plan without immediate risk of confrontation. The timing of the incident points to a level of premeditation, as they likely tracked the Deputy Chief Minister's schedule to ensure that he would not be present during the burglary.

**Debasree Sanyal**, an officer with the railway police, revealed that in addition to the cash and gold biscuit, additional stolen goods, such as silver utensils and pearl jewelry, were also confiscated from the suspects. This discovery suggests that Mandal and Thakur may be linked to multiple thefts, indicating a broader pattern of criminal behavior that extends beyond the high-profile incident involving the Deputy Chief Minister.

During their interrogation, both suspects confessed to their involvement in the theft, which underscores the effectiveness of police questioning techniques and the pressure that can be applied during such procedures. Following their admissions, the **West Bengal Police** promptly notified their counterparts in Telangana, ensuring that the investigation could continue and that appropriate actions could be taken to address the fallout from the crime.

Authorities are now engaged in a thorough investigation to determine whether additional individuals may have participated in the crime. This effort highlights the importance of collaborative law enforcement work across state lines, particularly in cases where criminal networks may operate in multiple regions. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the full extent of the suspects' criminal activities, including any possible connections to other thefts in the area. As this case unfolds, it serves as a reminder of the challenges law enforcement faces in combating property crimes, particularly in cases involving high-profile victims. The community remains watchful as police continue their efforts to ensure justice is served and that similar incidents can be prevented in the future.
