Google One Lite Plan with 30GB storage launches in India: Check the price and other information here

Google One has officially rolled out a new Lite version in India, designed to offer users additional cloud storage at a significantly reduced cost. This Lite plan enhances the standard 15GB of free storage provided by Google One to 30GB, available for a modest fee. The expanded storage can be used across various Google services, including Google Photos, Google Drive, and Gmail, providing a more budget-friendly option for users who need extra space but do not require the extensive storage offered by higher-tier plans.

The Google One Lite plan is priced at Rs 59 per month, presenting a more affordable alternative compared to the next tier, which offers 100GB of storage for Rs 118 per month. Essentially, the Lite plan is about half the cost of the 100GB plan, making it an attractive choice for users seeking a cost-effective solution. For those interested in a longer-term commitment, the annual subscription for the Lite plan is available at Rs 589. Furthermore, some users have reported special introductory deals that can reduce the monthly price to as low as Rs 15 for the first two months, though these offers may be limited and vary based on individual promotions.

One key aspect of the Google One Lite plan is that it does not allow for storage sharing with up to five additional users, a feature available in higher-tier plans. Additionally, the Lite plan excludes some of the advanced features found in the AI Premium plan, such as enhanced AI capabilities, including Gemini AI, integration with various Google apps, and the Magic Editor in Google Photos, which are part of the Rs 1,950 per month plan offering 2TB of storage.

The rollout of the Google One Lite plan appears to be gradual, with availability initially limited to a select group of users. Google often provides a one-month free trial for its subscription plans, and this offer seems to be extended to the Lite plan as well. However, the company has yet to confirm the timeline for a broader rollout or a full-scale release to all users.

This new Lite plan represents Google’s effort to cater to users in India who seek additional storage without the need for higher-tier plans. By providing a more economical option, Google One aims to make cloud storage more accessible, especially for those who require a moderate increase in storage capacity while managing costs effectively.
