Top Telugu actors Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, and Prabhas have demonstrated their philanthropic spirit by donating a combined total of Rs 4 crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, aimed at assisting the flood-affected regions in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This significant contribution underscores their commitment to supporting communities grappling with the aftermath of severe flooding.
Ram Charan and Allu Arjun each contributed Rs 1 crore, while Prabhas made a substantial donation of Rs 2 crore. Their generous donations add to the growing list of contributions from notable figures in the Telugu film industry. Earlier, icons such as Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, and Jr NTR had also stepped forward to aid in the relief efforts.
The recent heavy rainfall in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh has triggered severe flooding, leading to considerable loss of life and property. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for several districts in Telangana, including Jayashankar Bhupalapalle, Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, and Mulugu, as well as an orange alert for NTR and Krishna districts in Andhra Pradesh, due to the continuing threat of heavy rains.
In response to the crisis, Ram Charan took to social media to announce his contribution and express his support. On X, he shared, "This is the time to support and stand by the people of the Telugu states who are suffering due to rains and floods. As my contribution, I am announcing a donation of one crore rupees (Rs. 1 Crore) to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. I am praying to God that the people of the Telugu states recover from this situation quickly (sic)."
Allu Arjun also voiced his empathy and commitment to the cause. He posted, "I'm saddened by the loss and suffering caused by the devastating rains in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In these challenging times, I humbly donate ₹1 crore in total to the CM Relief Funds of both states to support the relief efforts. Praying for everyone's safety (sic)."
The floods have wreaked havoc across the affected regions, claiming 35 lives, damaging infrastructure, and flooding vast tracts of agricultural land. The relentless rains have submerged roads, disrupted rail services, and left many residents struggling to meet their basic needs. As rescue and relief operations continue, the contributions from these film industry stalwarts offer much-needed support to those in dire need.
With the heavy rains finally easing on Tuesday, floodwaters have begun to recede in various parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
