Delhi school blast: Anti-terror agency at the scene, forensic teams test white powder

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) reached the CRPF Public School in Rohini, Delhi, following a mysterious explosion that rocked the area on Sunday morning, sparking concern and widespread speculation. The blast, which occurred near the school’s wall, shattered nearby car windows and damaged adjacent shops, sending shockwaves through the neighborhood. Witnesses reported hearing a loud, thunderous noise, followed by a large plume of smoke that rose from the site and lingered in the air for several minutes, creating panic among locals. Videos capturing the aftermath of the explosion quickly surfaced online, showing the extent of the damage and amplifying concerns about the nature of the incident.

Authorities, including the NSG commandos, moved swiftly to secure the area, cordoning off the blast site while deploying sniffer dogs to search for additional clues. Forensic teams arrived at the scene, carefully collecting samples of a white powder-like substance found near the school wall, which could potentially provide crucial information about the nature of the explosion. The police also began analyzing social media platforms such as Telegram, which has been historically used by terror networks for communication, in an effort to uncover any links to the incident. The presence of NIA officials and NSG commandos heightened the suspicion of a possible terror angle, although no concrete evidence has emerged yet.

The cause of the blast is still being investigated, with several theories circulating, including the possibility of a gas cylinder explosion or a structural collapse. Eyewitness accounts suggest that the force of the blast was significant, as nearby hoardings were displaced, and glass windows were shattered. “There was a big cloud of smoke here that stayed for a good 10 minutes. The glass of the shops here has broken, and the hoardings have been displaced,” an eyewitness said, describing the scene of destruction.

Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies have registered an FIR under the Explosives Act and are meticulously examining CCTV footage from the surrounding area to piece together the sequence of events leading up to the explosion. The footage will likely play a key role in understanding the cause of the blast, as well as ruling out or confirming potential links to terrorist activity.

Despite the significant property damage, it is a relief that no injuries have been reported so far. However, the incident has left the community on edge, particularly given the involvement of elite investigation agencies and forensic experts. As the investigation unfolds, the authorities will continue to explore all possible angles, including the potential for an accident, a targeted attack, or something more sinister. The NIA’s involvement suggests a careful, thorough investigation to rule out any threats to national security.

With the explosion coming seemingly out of nowhere in a relatively quiet neighborhood, the mystery surrounding the event has raised alarms, not just in Delhi but across the country. As forensic experts continue their work and law enforcement agencies dig deeper, residents are hoping for swift answers to calm the growing anxiety in the area. The outcome of this investigation will likely shape the narrative around public safety and potential security concerns in the nation's capital.
