Jr NTR and Koratala Siva explain why the Daavudi song was deleted from Devara

In a recent interview, Jr NTR and director Koratala Siva explored the intricate and challenging decision-making process surrounding the omission of the highly anticipated "Daavudi" song from *Devara: Part 1*. Initially, the filmmakers decided to exclude the song to preserve the film’s serious tone and emotional flow. Jr NTR, a prominent actor known for his dynamic performances, articulated that this decision was reached after extensive discussions with both Siva and the film's editor, Sreekar Prasad. He conveyed the gravity of their choice, stating, “We felt like the film is travelling and getting serious. In fact, the story takes a serious spin, and we felt a song at that point would break the momentum of the narration.” This thoughtful approach highlights the filmmakers’ commitment to ensuring that the story’s progression remains unimpeded.

Despite Jr NTR’s well-established reputation for his engaging dance performances, he emphasized the importance of prioritizing storytelling over mere entertainment. He added, “While narrating the story, we don’t want to adulterate its essence by including a song at that point.” This dedication to narrative integrity was echoed by Koratala Siva, who referred to the omission of the song as “Jr NTR’s biggest sacrifice.” He noted that while there was a strong desire to include the musical number, they ultimately chose to prioritize the film's emotional trajectory over individual moments of spectacle. This decision reflects the filmmakers' overarching vision for the project, which seeks to evoke deep emotional responses from the audience through its storytelling.

However, following an overwhelming wave of requests and demands from fans eager to see the song included, the filmmakers re-evaluated their original decision. Just a week after the film’s initial release, they announced the exciting addition of the "Daavudi" song back into the film. This strategic move was made with the intention of enriching the overall viewing experience, ensuring that it still aligns with the film’s narrative arc and emotional depth. The re-inclusion of "Daavudi" has generated significant buzz among audiences, who are now curious about how this song will enhance the emotional landscape of *Devara* and fit into the broader narrative context.

*Devara: Part 1*, written and directed by Koratala Siva, is a high-octane action drama that showcases Jr NTR in dual roles as father Devara and son Varadha. The film also marks the Telugu debuts of Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, adding star power and anticipation to the project. Supporting roles are played by a talented ensemble cast that includes the seasoned actors Prakash Raj, Shruti Marathe, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, Kalaiyarasan, and Murali Sharma, each contributing to the film's rich tapestry of characters and narratives.

The film has been jointly produced by Yuvasudha Arts and NTR Arts, two prominent production houses known for their commitment to quality storytelling. The musical score, composed by the acclaimed Anirudh Ravichander, is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the film's emotional tone. Additionally, the technical team features Sreekar Prasad as the editor, whose expertise will ensure the film flows seamlessly, and Rathnavelu as the cinematographer, capturing the visual essence of the story with his lens.

*Devara: Part 1* hit theaters on September 27, across multiple languages, catering to a diverse audience eager to experience the film. The addition of "Daavudi" is anticipated to further enhance the narrative and emotional depth, serving as a crucial element that connects with the audience on a deeper level. The response from viewers will be closely monitored as they engage with the completed work, which now features the song that fans have long awaited. The excitement surrounding this film continues to build, with many eagerly anticipating how "Daavudi" will resonate within the broader context of *Devara*, enriching the cinematic experience and contributing to the film's overall success.
