In a significant and well-coordinated anti-drug operation, the Chandanagar Police in Telangana, in collaboration with the State Narcotic Bureau, successfully dismantled a major drug racket, leading to the seizure of narcotics valued at an estimated ₹18 lakhs. This high-stakes operation took place at a residence situated in the upscale locality of Gulmohar Park and resulted in the arrest of 28-year-old Krishna Ram Choudhary, a suspect from Rajasthan who is believed to be a key player in supplying drugs from Rajasthan to the metropolitan areas of Hyderabad and various regions within Andhra Pradesh.
Preliminary investigations into the operation have revealed a far-reaching network of individuals implicated in this illegal activity, with a total of eight suspects being identified. While Krishna Ram Choudhary remains in custody alongside two of his accomplices, Chail Singh and Sumar Singh, five additional suspects have evaded capture and are currently on the run, complicating the ongoing investigation. Notably, Chail Singh and Sumar Singh were later apprehended by the Choutuppal Police as part of a follow-up operation. In light of these developments, a comprehensive First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against the suspects, including names such as Samir Khan, Ladhuram, Vikram Singh, Ram Singh, and Pukraj Singh.
The success of this operation can be attributed in large part to a timely tip-off from a vigilant local resident, whose astute observations and willingness to report suspicious activity proved crucial in orchestrating the successful raid that uncovered around 150 grams of various narcotics. In a separate but equally significant incident earlier that same day, officials from the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), stationed at Hyderabad International Airport, intercepted two Indian nationals who were arriving from Bangkok. During a meticulous inspection of their checked luggage, authorities uncovered 13 vacuum-sealed transparent packets ingeniously concealed within Kellogg's chocolate boxes. This clever concealment tactic aimed to evade detection but was thwarted by the diligence of the DRI officials. Upon examination, the contents of these packets were identified as a green, sticky substance that tested positive for cannabis using a field test kit.
