Apple is aiming for smart homes: HomePod with a display is scheduled to launch in 2025, while a smart IP camera is anticipated in 2026


Apple’s much-anticipated display-equipped HomePod, which was initially slated for a 2024 release, has encountered multiple production delays, causing the timeline to shift significantly. According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, mass production of the device is now expected to begin after WWDC 2025, typically held in June. What was once projected for an early 2025 launch is now expected to be pushed back to late 2025. The delays are primarily due to challenges surrounding software development, which is essential for ensuring the device operates seamlessly. This has resulted in a longer wait for consumers eager to see the next iteration of Apple's smart speaker.

The new HomePod will be equipped with a 6 or 7-inch display, an upgrade from the existing HomePod models, which are known for their high-quality audio and integration with Siri. The device will be powered by Apple’s A18 processor, which will likely provide enhanced performance and allow for smoother interactions with various smart home functionalities. In addition to the display, the HomePod is set to be integrated with Apple Intelligence, which will mark a major leap in the smart speaker's capabilities.
