Are Jungwon from ENHYPEN and Winter from Aespa in a relationship? Agencies reject the report

K-pop group Aespa’s Winter and ENHYPEN’s Jungwon have been at the center of recent dating rumors that surfaced on December 11. The rumors claimed that the two idols were spotted together at a whisky bar in the upscale district of Cheongdam, which quickly caught the attention of fans and netizens, igniting widespread speculation about their relationship. These rumors created a storm of discussion across various social media platforms and fan forums.

In response to the allegations, both agencies representing the idols were quick to issue formal statements. SM Entertainment, the agency behind Aespa, was the first to address the issue. They firmly rejected the dating rumors, calling them "groundless" and stating that the photo of Winter and Jungwon at the bar had been maliciously circulated by an individual with ulterior motives. According to SM Entertainment, this person had initially contacted a media outlet to gain monetary compensation through the publication of the photo. When the media outlet refused to assist with these efforts, the individual reportedly took matters into their own hands, spreading the image online to fuel the rumors. SM Entertainment made it clear that they would be pursuing legal action against anyone involved in the spread of false information and malicious rumors about their artists.

BELIFT LAB, the agency representing ENHYPEN, quickly followed up with their own statement, also denying the dating rumors and reiterating their commitment to protecting the privacy of their artists. They assured fans that they would take "strong action" against any individuals or entities responsible for spreading rumors or infringing upon the privacy of their members. The agency stressed that the personal lives of the idols should be respected, and any attempts to exploit their privacy for profit would not be tolerated.

Both Aespa and ENHYPEN have been making significant waves in the K-pop industry in recent months, and this incident comes at a time when both groups have had notable comebacks. Aespa released its 5th mini-album, Whiplash, in October 2024, which has received attention for its bold, futuristic concepts and powerful performances. The album has garnered praise from fans and critics alike, cementing Aespa’s position as one of the leading girl groups in the industry. ENHYPEN, too, made waves with the release of their repackaged album Come Out? ROMANCE: UNTOLD -daydream in November 2024. The album features a mix of romantic and dreamlike themes, capturing the evolving artistry of the group. Both groups are actively promoting their music and performances, with Aespa focusing on international markets and ENHYPEN continuing its strong presence in the global K-pop scene.

Despite the distractions of the dating rumors, both Winter and Jungwon continue to focus on their careers, with their respective groups receiving continued support from fans worldwide. This incident also highlights the ongoing challenges faced by K-pop idols, who often have to contend with rumors and public scrutiny despite their personal lives being off-limits. The swift actions taken by both agencies serve as a reminder of how seriously such matters are treated in the K-pop industry, with legal recourse often being pursued in response to privacy violations and the spread of false information.
