During SMAT, Krunal Pandya discusses the RCB cheers for him: I thought, Wooo

Star all-rounder Krunal Pandya has already begun to experience the overwhelming love and support that comes with being a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) franchise for IPL 2025. He recently recalled a heartwarming moment during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024 when the passionate fans in Indore started chanting "RCB, RCB" as he took the field. Krunal, who was bought by RCB for a substantial Rs 5.75 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction, was deeply moved by the show of affection. The 32-year-old cricketer, who has had a successful IPL career with the Lucknow Super Giants, now has the opportunity to don the iconic red and black jersey and represent one of the most famous franchises in the league.

"When I was playing in Indore after the auction, I was bowling, and the entire one side of the stadium where there was a crowd, they started chanting ‘RCB…RCB,’ and I was like, 'Wooo,'" Krunal said, clearly awestruck by the overwhelming support from the crowd. He added these remarks in a video posted on RCB's official social media platforms. The occasion marked a significant milestone in Krunal’s career as he prepared to join the ranks of some of the most famous cricketers in the world. His performance in the SMAT 2024 was noteworthy as he captained Baroda to the semi-finals of the tournament before they were eliminated by Mumbai in a six-wicket defeat.

Krunal went on to speak about the exceptional bond between the RCB players and their fans. He shared his admiration for the unwavering loyalty and energy the RCB fanbase consistently displays, both at home and on the road. "It’s insane the support that they get. Obviously, at home, everyone knows how RCB fans are. But even when RCB travels for away games, you get the same kind of support, which not many franchises get. The fans are incredibly passionate and loyal. It’s the best fanbase, hands down," Krunal stated. This sentiment speaks to the unique nature of RCB’s supporters, who are known for their loud and enthusiastic backing of their team, no matter the circumstances.

For Krunal, this marks his first-ever season with the Royal Challengers Bangalore after spending three seasons with the Lucknow Super Giants. The chance to be a part of RCB, which has been a consistent performer in the IPL but is yet to clinch the coveted title, is a thrilling new chapter in his IPL career. The team is known for attracting some of the best talent in world cricket, and now Krunal will be joining forces with big names like Virat Kohli, one of the most celebrated cricketers in modern history.

"I’m really excited to play with Virat Kohli," Krunal said, recognizing Kohli's immense influence both as a cricketer and as a team leader. "We all know who Virat Kohli is and what all he has done. There’s so much to learn from him. I love his passion, his aggression, and what he brings to the team. His energy rubs off on others as well, and I love that kind of vibe and energy." The prospect of playing alongside Kohli is an exciting one for Krunal, who sees the chance to share the field with the former RCB captain as a valuable learning experience.

In his heartfelt message to the RCB fans, Krunal expressed his gratitude and excitement for what’s to come in IPL 2025. "RCB fans, I'll just say one thing, you guys have been the backbone of this team. I can sense it that this year, it’s going to create something very special and magical. So, just keep supporting us, and we’ll give you a lot of happiness this year." This message resonated with fans who have stood by RCB through the highs and lows, and it ignited even more enthusiasm for the upcoming season. With the team’s dynamic lineup, which includes the likes of Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and other top talents, expectations are high for an exciting and successful IPL campaign.

Krunal’s arrival at RCB adds another layer of excitement to a franchise that is hoping to finally secure the elusive IPL trophy. The all-rounder’s ability to contribute with both bat and ball will be a crucial asset for RCB as they aim to mount a serious challenge for the title in IPL 2025. His leadership skills, honed during his time as the captain of Baroda, will also be beneficial in the dressing room as he brings a wealth of experience and a strong work ethic to the team. As the season approaches, RCB fans can look forward to a thrilling campaign, with Krunal Pandya ready to play a pivotal role in bringing the IPL trophy to Bengaluru.
