Teen actor Hudson Joseph Meek tragically passed away on December 21, 2024, after falling from a moving vehicle just days before Christmas. He was 16 years old. The fatal accident occurred on the evening of December 19, around 10:45 pm local time in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, when Meek suffered blunt-force trauma. He was immediately rushed to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, where he succumbed to his injuries two days later. The Jefferson County Coroner's Office and the Vestavia Hills Police Department are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
Meek was best known for his role as young Baby in the Oscar-nominated film Baby Driver (2017), a role that earned him recognition in Hollywood. His acting career began in 2014 when he starred in the Christmas-themed film The Santa Con, alongside Melissa Joan Hart and Jaleel White. Meek’s portrayal of a younger version of the lead character in Baby Driver helped him stand out, and he went on to appear in the reboot of the action series MacGyver. His acting credits also included guest roles in various television series, such as the NBC drama Found. His family and friends take solace in knowing that Meek’s legacy will live on through several upcoming projects set for release in 2025.
In an obituary shared by his family, it was revealed that Meek was an organ donor, and his loved ones expressed comfort in knowing his passing would help save lives. His family shared the heartbreaking news of his death through an Instagram post that read, “Our hearts are broken to share that Hudson Meek went home to be with Jesus tonight. His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.” They also mentioned that Meek passed surrounded by friends, family, and his faith in Jesus Christ.
