In Mumbai, Marathi actor Urmila Kothare's vehicle collides with metro workers, killing one

A tragic accident involving a car owned by popular Marathi actress Urmila Kothare has resulted in the death of one laborer and left another grievously injured near Mumbai's Kandivali. Kothare, along with her driver, was also wounded in the incident, which occurred while she was returning from a film shoot. The accident took place near Poisar Metro station when the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, crashing into two Metro workers. One of the workers died on the spot, while the other was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for his injuries.

Police have stated that the car was traveling at high speed when it struck the workers. Despite the severity of the crash, Urmila Kothare escaped serious injury, thanks to the timely inflation of the car's airbags. The driver has been booked, and a case has been registered against him. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the accident.

Urmila Kanetkar, known for her work in the Marathi film industry, is famous for her roles in films like Duniyadaari, Shubhmangal Saavdhan, and Ti Sadhya Kay Karte. She also made a significant return to television with the hit show Tujech Mi Geet Gaat Ahe, after a 12-year hiatus from the small screen.

This incident follows a similar tragedy in Mumbai just days earlier. On December 21, a six-year-old boy died due to a neck injury caused by the activation of the airbag during a car crash in Navi Mumbai. The boy, seated in the front seat, was fatally injured when the airbag deployed on impact.
