Sara Arfeen Khan on BB18 eviction: Creators follow audience trends and are not unjust

Sara Arfeen Khan, who was evicted from Bigg Boss 18 on Sunday after receiving the least number of votes, shared her emotional thoughts and candid reflections in an interview with India Today Digital. She expressed shock over her elimination, especially since she had expected Kashish Kapoor to leave the house following the intense drama surrounding her and Avinash Mishra. Sara felt that the way events unfolded, Kashish's actions, and her involvement with Rajat Dalal contributed significantly to her being pushed out of the game. "I was really looking forward to the family week and having my kids come in. I feel it was because of Kashish; I am out because she used me and Rajat. That was very wrong of her," she said, clearly still frustrated by the dynamics that led to her departure.

Reflecting on her time in the Bigg Boss house, Sara opened up about seeing a side of herself that she wasn’t proud of but didn’t regret. She acknowledged that she had been pushed to her limits, which led to some aggressive behavior. "I did see the bad version of myself because I was pushed to my limits. In life, you don’t really face such situations where you have to live with someone you have issues with. The frustrations mounted and yet, I never got physical. And that's my biggest achievement," Sara shared, emphasizing that despite the emotional turmoil, she managed to maintain control and never physically lashed out at anyone. She also revealed how her approach to emotions shaped her behavior, stating that, as a mind coach, she always encourages people to feel their emotions instead of suppressing them. "I was accused, labelled, and tagged with names, but that never pushed me to hit someone or slip into depression. I am an emotional person, and I was ready to feel and express whatever I did," she added.

When discussing her journey on the show, Sara mentioned some of her most memorable moments, particularly the times when she got to share joyful experiences with her family. She fondly recalled the moment when she danced with her husband during Weekend Ka Vaar, an episode that brought her great joy. Another highlight for her was when Salman Khan made her laugh, especially with his unique way of pronouncing her name, which made her blush. However, her most heart-wrenching moment came when her husband, Arfeen, had to leave on her birthday. "I was distraught and heartbroken," she said, expressing the emotional toll that moment took on her.

As the show nears its finale, Sara addressed the growing accusations that the Bigg Boss makers have been playing favorites by pushing certain contestants ahead in the game. In response to these claims, she defended the show’s producers, stating that the show is driven primarily by audience votes and that if viewers support a contestant, they tend to get more screen time and opportunities to progress in the game. "The makers are not biased. The show depends on the audience. If they like someone, they put those issues ahead. And that's how the votes also come in," Sara explained, noting that the production does take into account what resonates with the viewers, as the audience’s preferences often shape the narrative. She also mentioned that her issue with Karan Veer had not been fully aired before her eviction, and while this was frustrating, she accepted it as part of the unpredictable nature of reality TV. "I would say the makers do see the audiences' point of view and what's trending," she clarified, adding that, despite her early exit, she was grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a memorable experience.

Sara also spoke about the authenticity of some of her co-contestants, stating that many of them were faking their personalities for the cameras. She pointed out Eisha Singh and Avinash Mishra, who she felt were bonding only for the sake of showmanship. In contrast, Sara praised Rajat Dalal for being the most real and sincere person in the house. "I think the only real person is Rajat Dalal. He should be the winner of the show. He is all heart and the most genuine person," she said. Despite this, Sara acknowledged that the game was unpredictable, and she didn’t know where the journey would end for her co-contestants. "However, this game is unpredictable and hence, I really don't know where it would go eventually," she said, leaving the possibility open for any contestant to emerge victorious.

As Sara's Bigg Boss journey came to a close, her words reflected a mix of vulnerability, resilience, and a deep understanding of the emotional complexities that come with being part of such a high-pressure reality show.
