Watch: 'queen' Tabu and Josh Heuston bonded over Indian food on the sets of Dune Prophecy

Josh Heuston, who portrays Constantine Corrino, the on-screen son of Tabu's character in Dune: Prophecy, spoke warmly about the bond they formed while working together on the set of the show. He shared that beyond their performances, Tabu made a concerted effort to connect with him off-screen as well, creating a genuine rapport that translated into their scenes. According to Josh, one of the ways she did this was by bringing him authentic Indian dishes to set every day, a gesture that not only made him feel welcomed but also allowed them to bond over meals and conversations.

In a touching Instagram story, Josh praised Tabu, calling her a “queen” for her kindness and hospitality. He elaborated on the special connection they had, saying, “Tabu used to, like, hang out with me at the front of the trailer. And she’d bring me, like, authentic Indian dishes to set every day. So we kind of built a little bit of rapport because she kept me alive and fed me.” This sweet exchange reflects the mutual respect and warmth they shared, which certainly helped in making their on-screen relationship as believable as it was. It’s clear that their connection went beyond professional duty and turned into a meaningful friendship.

Tabu's portrayal of Sister Francesca in Dune: Prophecy is one of the standout roles in the series. She plays a powerful Bene Gesserit, a sisterhood with immense political influence, and her character has a complex backstory involving her past relationship with the Emperor. As Francesca returns to the palace during a time of power shifts, her character becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue. The younger version of Francesca is played by Charithra Chandran, who brings a different layer to the character’s backstory. Meanwhile, Josh Heuston’s Constantine, Francesca’s illegitimate son, adds another dimension to the political drama, as he grapples with his position and his complicated relationship with his powerful parents, including the Emperor, played by Mark Strong.

The bond between Josh and Tabu extended beyond their performances in front of the camera. After the release of episode 5, Josh shared a series of behind-the-scenes photos that showcased moments of camaraderie between the two. One of these photos included a candid shot with Tabu, further emphasizing the natural connection they shared off-camera. These behind-the-scenes glimpses not only offer fans a look into the making of Dune: Prophecy but also give them insight into the genuine chemistry between the actors, making the series all the more engaging to watch.

Set 10,000 years before the events of Dune and Dune: Part Two, Dune: Prophecy explores the intricate beginnings of the Bene Gesserit, a secretive and powerful sisterhood that plays a significant role in the Dune universe. The series delves deep into the political machinations and personal stories that shape the destiny of the Dune saga, offering fans a rich narrative filled with intrigue, power struggles, and complex characters. Josh and Tabu’s performances, both on-screen and off-screen, serve as a testament to the collaborative effort that brings this compelling world to life. As the series continues, the development of their characters and the dynamics between them promise to be key elements in the unfolding story.
