The stabbing of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has shaken both his fans and the film industry. The incident occurred on Wednesday night when an intruder, who had been hiding inside the actor’s home for several hours, attacked him with a sharp object. The suspect managed to enter Khan’s Bandra residence using the fire escape stairs and confronted the actor and his wife, Kareena Kapoor, demanding ₹1 crore. A scuffle ensued, leaving Khan with six stab wounds, including serious injuries to his neck, back, and stomach. Fortunately, despite the severity of the injuries, doctors have confirmed that the spinal cord remains undamaged, and Khan is recovering.
Fresh visuals of the suspect have emerged, showing him in a blue shirt near the Bandra railway station the morning after the attack. Earlier footage captured him in a black t-shirt, climbing down the stairs of Khan’s building and glancing at a CCTV camera. In both instances, the suspect was seen carrying a backpack, which could hold potential clues. The suspect, described as being approximately 35-40 years old, slim, with a dark complexion and about 5'5" tall, was reportedly wearing a cap during the attack, which he later removed.
Police efforts to apprehend the attacker have intensified, with 35 teams formed to track him down. So far, several individuals have been questioned, including a carpenter resembling the suspect, but no arrests have been made. Saif Ali Khan's house help, Eliyama Philip, who first encountered the intruder, revealed that he was inside the room of the actor’s youngest son, Jehangir, when the confrontation began. Her account has been crucial in piecing together the timeline of the attack.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis assured the public that investigators have gathered multiple leads and expressed confidence in the suspect’s imminent arrest. Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor’s statement has also been recorded, adding to the ongoing probe.
