Displaying incredible physical agility and knowledge of the building layout, he climbed duct pipes and staircases to reach the 11th floor, where Saif Ali Khan’s family resides. His destination was the bedroom of Saif’s youngest son, Jehangir, whom the intruder targeted in a chilling breach of security. Entering through an attached bathroom, Shariful armed himself with a knife and a wooden weapon, lurking in the shadows until he was discovered.
At around 2:30 a.m., nanny Eliyama Philip entered the room and spotted the intruder hiding inside the bathroom. Acting quickly, she raised an alarm, but not before Shariful threatened her with violence and demanded a ransom of ₹1 crore. Her screams alerted other members of the household, including Saif and Kareena Kapoor Khan, who rushed to their son’s room to confront the situation.
