Bomb threat email sent to a Mumbai school by someone claiming to be from the Afzal gang

A school in the Jogeshwari-Oshiwara area of Mumbai received an alarming bomb threat through an email, prompting a swift and robust response from local law enforcement and explosive detection teams. The email, which was sent to the school's administration, indicated that a bomb had been placed by a group called the "Afzal Gang." This serious threat triggered immediate action from the authorities, who are now working diligently to assess the validity of the claim and ensure the safety of everyone at the school.

Upon receiving the threat, the Mumbai Police immediately dispatched officers to the location along with a bomb squad to conduct a comprehensive investigation. The police confirmed that they were thoroughly examining the premises to identify any potential danger. According to the official statement from the Mumbai Police, shared by news agency ANI on their official X handle, law enforcement and bomb detection, experts were on-site to ensure a meticulous and careful search of the building and surrounding areas.

At present, no suspicious devices or items have been discovered, and the search so far has not yielded anything that could pose a threat. Despite this, the authorities have assured the public and the school community that they are continuing their efforts to investigate every possible lead and will not take any chances when it comes to the safety of the students and staff.

While no immediate danger has been confirmed, the situation remains under active investigation, with experts working to confirm whether the bomb threat is credible or merely a hoax. Given the seriousness of the situation, the school has been cleared, and precautionary measures are in place to ensure that the premises remain secure while the investigation unfolds.

The police are also working on gathering more information about the "Afzal Gang" mentioned in the threat, trying to determine whether this is a known group or if this is a case of false attribution meant to intimidate or cause panic. Authorities are urging the public to remain calm as they continue to handle the situation with due diligence.
