Dakota Johnson whispers a wish into Nandi's ear as Chris Martin visits a temple in Mumbai

Ahead of Coldplay’s much-anticipated performance in Mumbai, lead singer Chris Martin was spotted visiting the Shri Babulnath Temple in the city with his girlfriend, Hollywood actor Dakota Johnson. The couple, who have been together since 2017, made headlines as they embraced Indian culture, sharing their visit with fans through pictures and videos that quickly circulated on social media.

Chris, 47, was dressed in a traditional blue kurta and wore a Rudraksha mala around his neck, symbolizing his respect for Indian traditions. Dakota, 35, complemented him with her elegant appearance in a simple printed suit, and also covered her head with a dupatta, further reflecting their respect for the local customs. Their appearance at the temple was significant, as it put to rest the rumors about their alleged breakup that had been circulating since 2024.

This visit marks another moment in the couple’s ongoing connection with India, as Chris Martin is in the country for Coldplay’s sold-out Music of the Spheres World Tour. The UK band is set to perform at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, delighting fans with their signature sound and massive global hits. Prior to their temple visit, a video of Chris and Dakota walking through the streets of Mumbai surfaced online, showcasing a more casual side of the couple. In the video, Chris was dressed in a grey T-shirt and trousers, while Dakota sported a chic black dress.

The couple’s relationship began after Chris’s divorce from actress Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he shares two children, Apple, 20, and Moses, 18. Dakota has spoken in the past about how she enjoys accompanying Chris on his tours whenever she is not busy with her own professional commitments. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Chris described Dakota as his "best friend," underscoring their strong bond both personally and professionally.

After Mumbai, Coldplay will conclude their India tour with two shows at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26. Fans across the world will also be able to enjoy the concert as it will be live-streamed on Disney+ Hotstar, offering an exciting opportunity for global audiences to join in on the band's electrifying performance.
