Schedule for Day 8 of the Australian Open 2025: Djokovic, Gauff, Sabalenka, and Alcaraz in action

Day 8 of the Australian Open 2024 promises thrilling tennis action as some of the sport's biggest names take center stage across Melbourne Park. Aryna Sabalenka, Novak Djokovic, Coco Gauff, Carlos Alcaraz, and Rohan Bopanna headline the day, with intense matchups in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles expected to captivate fans.

Aryna Sabalenka vs. Mirra Andreeva:
At Rod Laver Arena, Sabalenka, the reigning champion and winner of back-to-back Australian Open titles, faces a tough challenge in teenage sensation Mirra Andreeva. Their budding rivalry has produced some electrifying matches, including Andreeva’s three-set win over Sabalenka in the 2023 French Open quarterfinals. However, Sabalenka evened the score by defeating Andreeva in the Brisbane International semi-final earlier this year.

Coco Gauff vs. Belinda Bencic:
Following Sabalenka's match, US Open 2023 champion Coco Gauff takes on Switzerland's Belinda Bencic. Bencic advanced to this stage after receiving a walkover due to Naomi Osaka's injury in the previous round. Gauff’s powerful baseline game and Bencic’s shot-making promise an intriguing contest.

Carlos Alcaraz vs. Jack Draper:
In the penultimate singles match on Centre Court, top seed Carlos Alcaraz meets rising British talent Jack Draper. Alcaraz, known for his explosive athleticism and aggressive style, will look to continue his dominant run, but Draper’s improving form and resilience could make this a competitive clash.

Novak Djokovic vs. Jiri Lehechka:
The day concludes with Novak Djokovic, the 10-time Australian Open champion, taking on 24th seed Jiri Lehechka. Djokovic, chasing yet another title at Melbourne Park, remains a formidable opponent on this stage, while Lehechka will aim to spring an upset with his all-court game.

Paula Badosa and Doubles Action at Margaret Court Arena:
At Margaret Court Arena, Paula Badosa, seeking her maiden quarterfinal berth, faces Olga Danilovic. Danilovic, fresh off her upset of Jessica Pegula, will look to carry her momentum into this match. In doubles, last year’s runner-up pair Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori return to the court, aiming for another deep run.

Alexander Zverev vs. Ugo Humbert:
In the final match at John Cain Arena, No. 2 seed Alexander Zverev battles France’s Ugo Humbert. Zverev, known for his consistency and big-serving game, will need to overcome Humbert's crafty left-handed play to progress.

Rohan Bopanna in Mixed Doubles:
India's veteran doubles specialist Rohan Bopanna teams up with China's Shuai Zhang for the mixed doubles second round. They will face USA’s Taylor Townsend and Monaco’s Hugo Nys in what promises to be an engaging encounter. Bopanna’s experience and Zhang’s versatility will be key against the challenging duo.

Day 8 showcases a mix of experienced stars and rising talents, ensuring high-stakes matches filled with drama and excitement for tennis fans worldwide.
