Stand-up comedian and TV personality Munawar Faruqui took a dig at YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, following his recent arrest. In a video shared online, seemingly from outside India, Munawar humorously pointed at passing cars and quipped in Hindi, "Police jaa rahi hai BeerBiceps ke liye" (The police are going to Ranveer’s house). Alongside the video, he added a caption that read, "Ladka nikal gaya hai haath se", meaning "The boy is out of our hands," further poking fun at the situation.
Ranveer Allahbadia, a well-known podcaster and motivational speaker, found himself in legal trouble after an episode of India’s Got Latent, a YouTube show hosted by comedian Samay Raina, went viral for all the wrong reasons. The show featured prominent content creators, including Ashish Chanchlani and Apoorva Makhija, aka The Rebel Kid. However, a particular segment stirred controversy when Ranveer posed an inappropriate and highly disturbing question to a contestant: "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?"
The clip, widely shared on social media, drew immense backlash from netizens and authorities alike, with many calling the remarks distasteful and offensive. The outrage escalated into multiple police complaints being filed against Ranveer, leading to his arrest. The controversy reignited discussions around the boundaries of humor and responsible content creation on digital platforms.
Following the uproar, Ranveer issued a public apology, expressing regret for his remarks. In an attempt to mitigate the damage, all episodes of India’s Got Latent were taken down from YouTube. Despite the apology, the incident has sparked debates over ethical content standards in the Indian digital space, with critics arguing that influential creators must exercise greater discretion in their public discourse.
