CCTV shows a streetfight between a flower vendor couple and the nephew of a UP minister

The altercation in Meerut involving a man alleged to be the nephew of Uttar Pradesh Minister Somendra Tomar and a flower vendor has drawn significant attention after CCTV footage of the incident surfaced online. The fight reportedly broke out on a narrow and congested street on Saturday afternoon, where the minister’s nephew was traveling in his Mahindra Scorpio. Due to heavy traffic in the area, an argument ensued between him and the flower vendor, quickly escalating into a physical brawl.

The video footage shows the confrontation intensifying as both parties exchange heated words. Within moments, the altercation turns violent. A woman, presumably associated with the flower vendor, is seen running inside her shop and returning with a stick, which she uses to strike the man. As tensions rise, several bystanders intervene, coming to the couple’s aid and retaliating against the man, further worsening the situation. The scuffle continues for some time before the crowd disperses.

As the video went viral on social media, it led to public discussions about VIP culture, road rage incidents, and the misuse of political connections. Many online users criticized the altercation, with some calling for a stricter inquiry into the actions of the accused. Others debated whether the accused’s relation to the minister played a role in the lack of police action against him.

Speaking on the matter, the inspector of Brahmpuri police station stated that the issue had been resolved amicably, with both parties reaching a mutual settlement. As a result, no formal complaint was registered. Furthermore, the police clarified that they could not independently verify whether the accused man was indeed related to Minister Somendra Tomar, despite claims circulating on social media and local reports.

This incident highlights the broader issue of road rage and the frequent disputes that arise over traffic congestion in urban areas. Additionally, it has sparked a debate over the accountability of individuals linked to politicians and whether they receive special treatment in such cases. While the matter may have been settled between the individuals involved, public perception continues to question whether justice was truly served, especially given the growing concerns about VIP arrogance and unchecked privilege in India.
