Day 7 box office receipts for Sanam Teri Kasam: Harshvardhan's film brings in Rs 30 crore in a week

The re-release of Sanam Teri Kasam has turned out to be a massive success at the box office, proving the film's enduring popularity among audiences. Originally released in 2016, the Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane starrer had a modest run during its first theatrical outing. However, nearly nine years later, its re-release on February 7, 2025, has rewritten its box office fate.

In its first week, Sanam Teri Kasam amassed approximately ₹30.31 crore, a remarkable feat for a film that did not initially perform well. On its seventh day, February 13, the film earned around ₹2.04 crore, bringing its total collection to nearly ₹31 crore. With just ₹85 lakh left to cross the ‘hit’ benchmark, the film is on track to set a new record for re-released movies in India. The audience response has been overwhelmingly positive, with fans revisiting the emotional love story on the big screen and new viewers discovering its charm.

The film's makers celebrated this unexpected success with a heartfelt note, urging audiences to experience this “cinematic love therapy” once again, especially as Valentine’s Day approached. The re-release has benefitted from its cult following, which grew over the years through streaming platforms and social media.

Despite facing competition from new releases like Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, Sanam Teri Kasam has managed to sustain its momentum at the box office. The film's success highlights the unpredictable nature of box office trends and how nostalgia, combined with a well-timed re-release, can reignite interest in a movie. If its current trajectory continues, Sanam Teri Kasam may go down in history as one of the most successful re-releases in Indian cinema.
