Actor Yash has officially begun filming for Nitesh Tiwari’s grand cinematic adaptation of Ramayana in Mumbai, where he is set to portray the iconic role of Ravana. The much-anticipated film is being made on an epic scale, promising a visually spectacular retelling of the legendary tale.
Yash’s Shooting Schedule and Key Details
According to reports, Yash, who was already in Mumbai for his work on Toxic, has now commenced filming an intense war sequence for Ramayana. A source revealed that he started shooting on Friday, following two days of costume trials, ensuring that his look as Ravana is as impactful and authentic as possible.
The team has planned a large-scale battle sequence, with initial portions being filmed at Aksa Beach in Mumbai, before shifting to a studio in Dahisar. This sequence is designed to highlight Ravana’s strategic brilliance and involves elaborate action choreography, green-screen shots, and extensive VFX work.
Interestingly, Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Ram, will not be part of this segment, as it does not involve the highly anticipated Ram-Ravana face-off. Instead, Yash is shooting with other key actors who play pivotal roles in this war sequence.
Grand Vision for Ramayana’s War Scenes
The battle scenes in Ramayana are reportedly being designed to be spectacular and immersive, showcasing Ravana's tactical genius in combat. A source quoted by a leading portal explained:
"The war portions are being mounted on a grand scale, with the action choreography designed to reflect Ravana’s strategic prowess. It will be a combination of green-screen shots and those shot on the ground, involving heavy VFX work. This set piece doesn’t require Ranbir’s presence, as it’s not the Ram-Ravana face-off."
The film’s action sequences are expected to be some of the most ambitious ever attempted in Indian cinema, blending realistic combat choreography with state-of-the-art CGI and visual effects.
