A Jaipur woman kills her husband. They are seen on CCTV carrying a body on a bike

This disturbing case from Jaipur reveals a harrowing tale of love, betrayal, and a brutal murder driven by an extramarital affair. Dhannalal Saini, a 40-year-old vegetable vendor, had been married to Gopali Devi for over a decade, living a seemingly ordinary life in the Sanganer area. However, beneath the surface, Gopali Devi had been involved in a secret affair with Deendayal, a local worker at a clothing store, for the past five years. The affair remained hidden until recently when Dhannalal began to suspect his wife's infidelity.

On March 15, Dhannalal, troubled by Gopali’s sudden absences, decided to search for her. His worst fears were confirmed when he found her at Deendayal's shop, Shyam Fashion, in Sanganer’s Kashido Wali Gali. Seeing them together triggered a heated confrontation. As tempers flared, Gopali Devi and Deendayal realized their affair could no longer remain a secret — and they decided to eliminate Dhannalal to be together without interference.

What followed was a meticulously planned, cold-blooded murder. The couple convinced Dhannalal to accompany them upstairs to a room above the shop, pretending they wanted to resolve the matter peacefully. Once there, they ambushed him. Deendayal struck Dhannalal on the head with an iron pipe, leaving him severely injured. To ensure he wouldn’t survive, they strangled him with a rope, making certain he was dead.

But the killing wasn’t enough. Fearing arrest, they plotted to dispose of his body to erase all evidence. They stuffed his lifeless body into a large bag, transported it on Deendayal’s motorcycle under the cover of darkness, and dumped it near the secluded Bheruji Temple. To further conceal his identity and destroy any forensic traces, they doused the body in a flammable substance and set it on fire.

Their plan to flee Jaipur was foiled when the police, acting on a missing person’s report filed by Dhannalal’s relatives, swiftly investigated his last known movements. CCTV footage near the shop provided crucial leads, showing Gopali Devi and Deendayal leaving with a large, suspicious-looking bag on a bike. They were arrested within 48 hours. During interrogation, both confessed to the crime, leading investigators to the site where they had burned the body.

This case eerily mirrors a shocking murder in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut, where Muskaan and her lover Sahil Shukla killed her husband, dismembered his body, and concealed the remains inside a cement drum. Both cases highlight an alarming pattern of partners conspiring with lovers to commit horrifying acts of violence to escape unhappy marriages.

The Jaipur community remains stunned by the brutality of the crime, with neighbors recalling how Dhannalal was a kind, hardworking man who never imagined his life would end in such a gruesome manner. Meanwhile, the police are preparing a watertight case to ensure Gopali Devi and Deendayal face the maximum punishment for their premeditated crime.

These tragedies reflect not only the devastating consequences of infidelity but also how emotions like jealousy and desperation, when unchecked, can spiral into horrific violence — leaving families shattered and communities horrified.
