Avneet Kaur recently opened up about an incident from her childhood where she stood up for herself after being harassed during Holi. In an interview with Hauterrfly, she recalled how a boy threw a water balloon at her despite her warning him not to — and when the balloon hit her inappropriately, she didn’t hold back. Avneet described how she grabbed a cricket bat and beat him up for his misbehavior. When the boy’s mother later came to complain to her mother, Avneet’s mom firmly sided with her, saying the boy deserved it for his actions.
Avneet also talked about her early struggles, including being bullied in school after starring in a soap commercial. Her classmates would mock her by quoting the ad, calling out, “Aye, Bunty, tera sabun…” whenever she walked past. This teasing made her school days difficult, and she admitted people often misunderstood her personality, assuming she was arrogant because of her rising fame.
On the professional front, Avneet is eagerly awaiting the release of her upcoming film Love in Vietnam, directed by Rahhat Shah Kazmi. Announced at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival, the film marks a historic cinematic collaboration between India and Vietnam. It stars Vietnamese actress Kha Ngan alongside Avneet and Shantanu Maheshwari, known for his role in Gangubai Kathiawadi. The movie is based on the novel Madonna in a Fur Coat, promising an emotional, cross-cultural love story that has already piqued international curiosity.
