See: MS Dhoni's entertaining ad with Sandeep Reddy Vanga expresses his inner Animal

MS Dhoni unleashed his inner 'Animal' in a rib-tickling new commercial for EMotorad, an electric cycle company, teaming up with none other than Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The legendary cricketer took on the persona of Ranbir Kapoor’s fierce character Ranvijay Singh from the hit movie, blending intensity with his trademark charm — and a hilarious twist.

The ad opened with Dhoni stepping into the shoes of Ranbir’s menacing on-screen avatar, recreating the iconic scene where Ranvijay storms out of his car with his gang in tow. Except this time, Dhoni didn’t emerge from a flashy car — he strutted onto the road with an electric cycle by his side, turning the serious moment into a comedy goldmine. Vanga, directing the ad, couldn’t hold back his laughter, praising Dhoni’s surprising acting skills and joking that audiences would go wild for this version.

Dhoni, staying in character, doubled down on the performance, delivering one of Ranbir’s most unforgettable lines from the movie: "Sunaiye de raha hai mujhe, behra nahi hu main" (I can hear, I’m not deaf). Vanga, clearly loving every second, declared Dhoni was a natural and that the ad would be a massive hit.

The fun didn’t stop there. Dhoni embraced the Ranvijay look, sporting a rugged mullet hairstyle and throwing in more dramatic expressions. Vanga egged him on, insisting the ad needed to be "bigger and better," treating the shoot like a blockbuster film set. Dhoni, breaking into his usual calm and witty persona, playfully questioned whether they were overdoing things. He reminded Vanga, "Isn’t this just an ad for an electric cycle?" — but Vanga wasn’t ready to dial it down. He insisted Dhoni go full Animal mode until the end, setting up a final, unforgettable shot.

The last scene mimicked the intense closing moments of the film, with Dhoni fully embracing the Ranvijay persona one more time. The result? A mash-up of intensity and comedy that fans are sure to adore — blending the power of Bollywood with the iconic coolness of Captain Cool himself.

Beyond his on-screen antics, Dhoni is already deep into preparations for his 18th IPL season with Chennai Super Kings. Known for his relentless dedication, he reported to the CSK training camp early, ensuring he’s in peak form for the upcoming season. The veteran wicketkeeper-batter remains determined to lead CSK to a record sixth IPL title — and perhaps bid farewell on a high note, though he’s remained tight-lipped about his retirement plans.

Dhoni was also spotted attending the wedding festivities of Rishabh Pant’s sister, where he mingled with fellow cricketers and guests, showing his ever-grounded, humble side.

The CSK squad, powered by Dhoni’s leadership and bolstered by fresh talent, will face arch-rivals Mumbai Indians in their opening match on March 23 at their home ground in Chennai. With a full-capacity crowd expected, the stage is set for a high-stakes, electric showdown. Fans can’t wait to see if Dhoni’s on-screen fierceness translates to the field — and if the Thala magic leads Chennai to yet another IPL triumph.
