Mika Singh recently shared an amusing and insightful story about his experience with Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan regarding his home renovation. The popular singer revealed that he had long admired Gauri Khan’s interior designing skills and wanted her to redesign his home. However, when he mentioned this to Shah Rukh, the superstar jokingly warned him, saying, "Gauri Khan lootegi, mehenga karegi," implying that her services would be expensive.
Despite SRK’s playful remark, Mika was determined to have Gauri transform his home and insisted on working with her. During a recent interview with Pinkvilla, he recalled how he repeatedly requested SRK to persuade Gauri. In response, the superstar told him, "Tu khud baat kar," encouraging Mika to approach her directly.
After Mika finally spoke to Gauri, she agreed to take on the project, but with one strict condition—he was not allowed to question any of her creative choices. Mika, who usually prefers a neutral color palette with beige and brown tones, was surprised when Gauri introduced a bold green couch in his home. However, staying true to his word, he never interfered with her work and allowed her to handle the entire project independently.
The singer revealed that the renovation process took nearly two years, but he patiently waited without visiting the site. When he finally saw the finished home, he was absolutely thrilled with the outcome and deeply grateful to Gauri for her expertise. He expressed his appreciation by saying, "So once again, thank you, Gauri bhabhi, for such a wonderful house. The wait was completely worth it."
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Shah Rukh Khan is temporarily moving out of Mannat as the iconic bungalow undergoes extensive renovations. According to Hindustan Times, the renovation work, which includes a major extension, is scheduled to begin in May 2025. Since Mannat is a Grade III heritage structure, any modifications require special court approval, which SRK has successfully obtained.
Fans are eager to see the grand transformation of Mannat, and given Gauri Khan’s impeccable design aesthetics, expectations are high. Over the years, Mannat has become more than just a home—it is a landmark in Mumbai, visited by thousands of SRK fans daily.
