Sunny Deol's Jaat has experienced a slight dip in its box office collections, especially on the second Saturday, following the release of Kesari Chapter 2. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, Jaat has managed to perform decently in its first 10 days, nearing Rs 70 crore nett. However, the film’s smooth run was hampered by the arrival of Kesari Chapter 2, which, though not performing spectacularly, still affected Jaat’s box office performance.
As per the trade website Sacnilk, Jaat earned around Rs 3.75 crore nett on its second Saturday, a significant drop from its first Monday collection of Rs 7.25 crore. By the end of its 10-day run, the film had grossed a total of Rs 69.40 crore nett.
Here’s a breakdown of Jaat’s box office collections after 10 days:
-
Thursday: Rs 9.5 crore
-
Friday: Rs 7 crore
-
Saturday: Rs 9.75 crore
-
Sunday: Rs 14 crore
-
Monday: Rs 7.25 crore
-
Tuesday: Rs 6 crore
-
Wednesday: Rs 4 crore
-
Thursday: Rs 4.15 crore
-
Friday: Rs 4 crore
-
Saturday: Rs 3.75 crore
-
Total: Rs 69.40 crore
While Kesari Chapter 2 has not been a massive box office hit, its decent performance has still impacted Jaat's earnings. The Akshay Kumar-starrer opened with Rs 7.75 crore nett and showed slight growth on Saturday, earning Rs 9.75 crore, bringing its two-day total to Rs 17.5 crore nett.
At the current pace, it looks increasingly difficult for Jaat to breach the Rs 100 crore mark in India. Meanwhile, Kesari Chapter 2 has garnered positive reviews from both critics and audiences, further complicating Jaat’s box office journey.
Jaat also stars Randeep Hooda and Viineet Kumar Siingh in significant roles and is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory.
