During the promotion of the film on Friday, the acclaimed actor made an impactful statement by wearing a black band on his arm, a gesture of solidarity with the victims of the Pahalgam attack that occurred on April 22.
Dressed in a white-and-black checked suit with a black shirt, Nawazuddin’s attire had a solemn touch, with the black band symbolizing his grief and support for the victims. Speaking to India Today, he expressed his deep emotional response to the tragic incident. The actor shared that the attack, which resulted in the loss of 26 lives, including two foreign nationals, has caused widespread anger and pain across the nation. He conveyed his feelings by stating, "Bohot dukh bhi hai" (There is also a lot of pain).
When asked how he believed this anger could be channeled, Nawazuddin acknowledged the frustration of ordinary citizens but emphasized the importance of trusting the government to take the necessary actions. He said, "Humare mein gussa hai, bohot zyada gussa hai, par hum kya kar sakte hai" (There is a lot of anger in us, but what can a normal citizen do?). He expressed faith in the government's efforts, stating that they were already working on the situation and hoped for justice for the victims.
