While on a celebratory USA tour in Atlanta to mark 25 illustrious years in the Indian entertainment industry, Hrithik Roshan delighted fans by revealing key updates about his upcoming film War 2, his directorial debut Krrish 4, and his dream to collaborate with global filmmaking icons like Christopher Nolan.
In a heartwarming moment during the event, Hrithik was asked to name his favorite co-star. Without hesitation, he named Jr NTR, his War 2 co-actor, saying,
"I just did War 2 with him and he's amazing, he's brilliant. He's such a fine teammate. I think we have done something good and I can't wait for you guys to watch it. War 2 (is coming) on 14th August."
The crowd erupted with cheers as Hrithik’s admiration for Jr NTR reflected the excitement surrounding their on-screen collaboration. The film will mark Jr NTR’s Bollywood debut, bringing together two powerhouses of Indian cinema for an epic face-off. Their camaraderie has been visible even on social media, where the actors have frequently exchanged playful banter — only fuelling anticipation for their intense showdown in the YRF Spy Universe.
War 2, directed by Ayan Mukerji, also stars Kiara Advani and is scheduled for a nationwide release on August 14, 2025, just ahead of India's Independence Day — a slot YRF has previously capitalized on for blockbuster releases.
Beyond War 2, Hrithik shared his nervous excitement about stepping into the director's chair for Krrish 4, the next installment in the beloved Indian superhero franchise started by his father Rakesh Roshan.
"I can’t tell you how nervous I am. I need all the encouragement I possibly can," Hrithik admitted, as fans cheered him on. "I’ll take all the love back with me," he added with a smile.
Hrithik, who made his acting debut with Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai in 2000, also touched upon his dream collaborations.
"Rakesh Roshan — that dream happened right in the beginning," he said, referring to his father and mentor."Now, I'd actually like to work with Christopher Nolan. He is one of my favourite directors."
The mention of Nolan sparked excitement, with fans speculating what a Hrithik-Nolan project might look like, especially considering Hrithik’s flair for intense, cerebral roles as seen in films like Kaabil, Super 30, and Vikram Vedha.
With a blockbuster lineup, a potential directorial debut, and global ambitions, Hrithik Roshan continues to reinvent himself 25 years into his career. His evolution from a romantic hero to an action icon — and now a filmmaker — only strengthens his legacy as one of Indian cinema's most dynamic stars.
