Mukesh Ambani falls outside the top 10 on Forbes' 2025 Billionaires List. Verify the rating

Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, has fallen out of the top 10 in Forbes' World's Billionaires List for 2025, slipping to the 18th position. His net worth has declined significantly to $92.5 billion from last year’s $116 billion, reflecting a turbulent year for his wealth despite the overall surge in billionaire fortunes worldwide. This drop marks a notable shift, as Ambani had consistently ranked among the world’s wealthiest individuals in previous years.

The 2025 Forbes list highlights a record-breaking number of billionaires, with 3,028 individuals making the cut—an increase of 247 compared to 2024. The combined net worth of these billionaires has grown substantially, reaching $16.1 trillion, which is nearly $2 trillion higher than last year. The United States leads with 902 billionaires, followed by China (including Hong Kong) with 516, and India with 205, reinforcing the growing influence of Asian economies in the global wealth landscape.

Elon Musk has regained his title as the world’s richest person, boasting an estimated net worth of $342 billion. His resurgence has pushed Bernard Arnault, the head of luxury giant LVMH, down to fifth place—his lowest ranking since 2017. Meanwhile, Mark Zuckerberg has reached second place for the first time in his career, with a staggering net worth of $216 billion, surpassing Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who now ranks third, and Oracle’s Larry Ellison, who holds the fourth position.

Among Indian billionaires, Gautam Adani, chairman of the Adani Group, ranks 28th globally with a net worth of $56.3 billion. The country’s richest woman, Savitri Jindal, has secured the 56th spot with a fortune of $35.5 billion, making her the sixth-richest woman in the world. Her wealth underscores the rising prominence of female billionaires in India’s corporate sector.

The rankings were determined using stock prices and exchange rates as of March 7, 2025, reflecting real-time shifts in financial markets and economic trends. The billionaires on this list continue to shape global industries, from technology and retail to infrastructure and finance, as their fortunes fluctuate in response to market forces and investment strategies.
