Pawan Kalyan's son is back home and recuperating, says Chiranjeevi

Megastar Chiranjeevi has shared a heartfelt update on the recovery of his nephew Mark Shankar, son of Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. Mark had been hospitalized in Singapore after sustaining serious injuries in a tragic school fire accident that also claimed the life of another child.

Chiranjeevi, joined by his wife Surekha and brother Pawan Kalyan, had flown to Singapore immediately after the incident to be with the family during the critical time. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Chiranjeevi confirmed that Mark has now returned home and is in the recovery phase.

Our baby Mark Shankar has come home. But he still needs to recover. With the grace and mercy of our clan deity, Anjaneya Swamy, he will soon be fully healthy and back to normal. Tomorrow is Hanuman Jayanti, and that Lord stood by us, saving that little child from a great danger and a tragedy,” Chiranjeevi wrote.

He expressed deep gratitude to the public for their prayers and support during this difficult time, saying:

“Everyone in their respective towns and areas stood by our family, wishing Mark Shankar a speedy recovery. They are praying for the child and offering blessings. On behalf of myself, my younger brother Kalyan Babu (@PawanKalyan), and our entire family, we thank you all.

According to earlier updates from Pawan Kalyan, Mark had undergone bronchoscopy under general anaesthesia due to the effects of smoke inhalation, which may have long-term impacts. He had also sustained burn injuries to his hands and legs.

Pawan Kalyan had canceled his official engagements in Manyam, Alluri Sitharama Raju district to be by his son’s side. The Deputy CM shares Mark Shankar and daughter Polena Anjana Pawanova with his Russian wife Anna Lezhneva, and also has two children, Akira Nandan and Aadhya, with actor and ex-partner Renu Desai.

As Hanuman Jayanti approaches, the family's relief and gratitude resonate deeply with fans and supporters who rallied in prayer for Mark’s safety.
