Suryakumar Yadav has firmly denied reports suggesting his move from Mumbai to Goa, taking to social media on Wednesday, April 2, to dismiss the speculation. The rumors emerged after a leading Indian daily reported that the senior batter would follow his Mumbai teammate Yashasvi Jaiswal to Goa, along with other prominent players. However, Suryakumar wasted no time in quashing these claims, making it clear that he has no plans to leave Mumbai.
Meanwhile, Yashasvi Jaiswal confirmed his departure from Mumbai to The Indian Express, citing a leadership opportunity as the reason for his move. The young left-hander, who has been a standout performer in domestic cricket and for India in international matches, acknowledged that the decision was a difficult one. Despite his deep connection with Mumbai cricket, he expressed his excitement about the new challenge ahead.
“It was a very tough decision for me. Whatever I am today is because of Mumbai. The city has made me who I am, and all my life, I will be indebted to the MCA,” Jaiswal said.
“Goa has thrown me a new opportunity, and it has offered me a leadership role. My first goal will be to do well for India, and whenever I’m not on national duty, I will be playing for Goa and try to make them go deep into the tournament. This was an important opportunity that came my way, and I just took it.”
Jaiswal's move marks a significant shift in the domestic cricket landscape, as Mumbai has traditionally been a powerhouse in Indian cricket. With his decision to embrace a leadership role in Goa, the young star hopes to further develop his game and contribute to the success of his new team. However, for now, Suryakumar Yadav remains committed to Mumbai, putting an end to any speculation about his departure.
