The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge, touted as the slimmest smartphone ever in the Samsung lineup, has reportedly been delayed. Originally expected to launch on April 15, the date has now been scrapped, and speculation suggests that the passing of Samsung co-CEO Han Jong-hee may have played a role in this postponement. According to recent reports from SamMobile, Samsung now plans to unveil the Galaxy S25 Edge on May 13. However, the launch may be relatively low-key, with the company opting for a smaller presentation rather than a full-fledged event, despite the phone’s innovative design. This would still be a step up from the press release Apple used to announce the iPhone 16e.
As for the availability, the exact sale date remains unknown. Buyers may have to wait until June or beyond before the device is officially available in stores. At just 5.84mm thick, the Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to claim the title of Samsung’s slimmest smartphone to date. While it may be slightly thicker than the rumored iPhone 17 Air, early impressions suggest that it won’t compromise on flagship-level performance. The device will reportedly feature a premium titanium frame, offering a lightweight, durable, and scratch-resistant body. Leaked videos have revealed a sleek design with three colour variants: Titanium Icy Blue, Titanium Jet Black, and Titanium Silver.
Under the hood, the S25 Edge is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor—the same chip used in other models of the Galaxy S25 series—paired with 12GB of RAM. This setup is expected to ensure smooth multitasking and high-performance gaming. The only potential drawback may be its 4,000mAh battery, which is modest compared to other flagship models, but still an impressive feat given the ultra-slim profile of the phone. On the camera front, the device is expected to feature a dual-camera setup with a 200-megapixel main sensor, while the front-facing camera may sport a 12-megapixel lens, promising high-quality photography in a compact form.
